Impact of Microplastic Ingestion on Microzooplankton In laboratory experiments I conducted in 2020, the heterotrophic dinoflagellate species Oxyrrhis marina and Gyrodinium sp. readily ingested polystyrene microplastic (MP) spheres (2.5–4.5 μm).
